Special Surprise

Hubby came home with this a week or so ago. I had NO IDEA he was planning to get this – I had never even asked for anything like it. So it was a HUGE surprise. You see, we had gone out on a date night to a local Chinese restaurant and I saw some ladies drinking from these cups and something from my childhood came flooding back. Something good. (And if you’ve read my blog much, you know I don’t have too many good thoughts about my childhood.) I guess hubby liked the fact that I had something good to say about my childhood. *grin*

When I was a kid my mom and her second husband and my sister and I would go to a local Chinese restaurant (in the Kansas City area) quite often. I remembered the tea and the cups…for some reason I *LOVED* them both. I was so taken by the tea and cups when hubby and I went out to eat…I HAD to have some while we were there. Even had hubby share in the experience too.  🙂

I don’t know what it is about them…they are just special to me…and those times of eating are something that doesn’t cause a bad feeling in me so I guess hubby wanted me to enjoy that so he came home and surprised me with my own set! Thanks hubby!

(By the way, P loves to pour the regular tea we put in it in to the little cups for the rest of us. *grin*)

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

What a lovely surprise! I was writing about smiles today, and can imagine your smile at something simple like some cups – and why not!
    Cheers, Gordon

It’s great to have a happy memory, that was previously hidden and drowned out by the more painful and difficult ones, restored. It sounds like you are blessed with a hubby who understands that and has worked to attune himself to what’s of value to you.

Now you can take the seed of that positive childhood memory and cultivate some good childhood motors for your little. What a treasure!

    Blessings,
    Kina
