Joining up with Marcy over at Ben & Me for “Blogging through the Alphabet” and super excited to do so!
My husband, for many reasons, is a frugal person. If you look it up the definition of frugal is: economical in use or expenditure; prudently saving or sparing; not wasteful. Great qualities, right? Right. But a bit difficult when one spouse is frugal and the other (me!) is not. Our life together has been very interesting (to say the least) but the Lord is working to make us BOTH better people.
I have learned A TON from my husband…we recycle and reuse EVERYTHING we can. We recycle cans and paper. We reuse any cans or jars we can. We even keep “postage paid return envelopes” to pay bills we drop off or to put deposits at the bank. It really is “the little things” that end up adding up to “the big things”. Sometimes I find it exhausting as I was raised to ‘throw it away and buy another’ ~ so sometimes I want to do just that. But normally we don’t. And it feels good, overall, to know that we are doing what we can to help ourselves financially (because every little bit helps…SERIOUSLY) and to help our world be less cluttered with junk.
It is funny to think about now because so much of it just happens naturally that it is hard to THINK about the MANY different small ways we are frugal. Additionally, the Lord has been VERY good to constantly provide for our needs.
Are you frugal? I would love to hear different things you do!
