“5 Days of Teaching Creatively” ~ Day 3 ~ Toys, Games, Puzzles

As part of the Schoolhouse Review Crew, we are having a “5 Days of Teaching Creatively” blog hop this week. WOOT! Here is what you can look forward to reading about…

Today is “Toys, Games, Puzzles“…one of my favorites!

Aren’t toys, games and puzzles a large part of learning? Especially for the younger years? And isn’t that part of homeschooling – using EVERY part of life (especially FUN things!) as learning tools?

One of my most favorite things was using Legos to work with my son on his colors and counting. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture, but it was a lot of fun (who doesn’t like Legos!?!?!). Check out my friend Jenny’s “Learning with Legos” Pinterest board for ideas.

The guys greatly enjoy playing games and I am always encouraged by how much games can truly teach children! You can read my post from the Simply Fun Games review we did last year. AMAZING ways to learn. Seriously. Counting, colors, shape matching, life skills, geography, and on and on and on…

Now head over and check out all the other Schoolhouse Review Crew folks who posted about Schooling in the Kitchen:
