Review & Giveaway ~ JumpStart.com

Photobucket

We had the opportunity to review JumpStart.com which is an educational online program you can play online FOR FREE! Normally, I am not a big fan of online things for the kids, but JumpStart is a favorite of mine (my 15 year old used to play it!) so I feel comfortable letting our youngest play (however, someone is always in the room with him).

Most areas in JumpStart are great for all ages. However, some areas are designed with specific age groups in mind:

  • StoryLand – Ages 3-5
  • AdventureLand – Ages 5-8
  • MarineLand – Ages 5-8
  • FutureLand – Ages 9-12
  • Poseidon’s Hangout – Ages 9-12
  • Enchanted Sanctuary – where kids can hatch and grow their own dragons
DS4 really likes playing JumpStart – I think it reminds him of one of the games ds15 plays online. 🙂 Playing this works on his coordination not to mention all the actual learning he’s getting while playing. They have letter games, alphabet games, etc…I don’t feel I can explain what is learned any better than they had it on their website, so here it is:

Here is another shot of him giving his dragon a bath:

As you can see, the graphics are amazing!

This is a screen shot of his learning choices for the downloaded 4-6 year olds game (you get this game when you purchase a membership):

Here is one page of the parent reports…it is nice for me, as a parent, to SEE what he is learning, and to see how much he has left to enjoy.

I’m not sure that ds4 has a “favorite” area to play or thing to do in JumpStart, he truly seems to enjoy it all! And I enjoy watching him play and enjoy learning!

You can play online for FREE but they also have an optional membership plan which allows additional games, more areas to play, more overall learning...not to mention an entire other site: MathBlaster.com. MathBlaster covers preschool through division. The cost for membership: $7.99 per month OR $74.99 per year or $149.99 for lifetime.

They even have a blog!

And now…I get to give away a FREE 3-month membership to one of my readers – WOOT! Enter below…
