A Day Trip to the Bullfights in Spain
by Alice C. Kennedy
Softcover, 92 pages
Size 8 x 10, Full Color
I was given the opportunity to review A Day Trip to the Bullfights in Spain which is based on a true story and geared toward those ages two and up. It is the story of “a day trip” of a family visiting Spain and going to the bullfights. It has large print with not too many words on a page, intermixed with full-color photos and clipart. The story is actually quite sad, to me – although it is “advertised” as being “Hilarious!” (printed on the back of the book).
It is basically a story of a young one’s perspective on this “day trip” in Barcelona. He ends up crying at the bullfights because he doesn’t like seeing the blood and the bull’s getting hurt so his dad takes him out to do other things, where he has fun. Then they go out to dinner and he cries again because the dinner mime is freaking him out.
Almost half the book consists of “activity pages” including coloring pages, journaling pages and full-color pictures.
If you are planning a trip to a bullfight, I suppose this would be a good book to go over with your child. Additionally, if you are planning a trip your child could use this as a travel journal.
I do have another upcoming review from Alice called The Shadow’s of King Arthur’s Palace…stay tuned for that one in the near future.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the Publisher in exchange for a review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
