I had the opportunity to review SEO Basics for Bloggers from Nightfire Publications. This ebook is a transcription of a podcast with Tricia Meyer, Eric Nagel, Deborah Carney and Vinny O’Hare and was done as a part of Blogging ABCs. This is a continuation of their “Beginning Blogger” series…which I am finding VERY helpful! (You can read my other review Choosing the Scope & Structure for Your Blog.)
My overall opinion: I REALLY enjoyed this little book. It is PACKED FULL of little tidbits of important SEO information…which if you are a beginning blogger (or even not such a beginning blogger) SEO can be hard to understand and follow. This book helps (although there were several places where I wished there was a bit more information about what they were talking about…hoping that will be in an upcoming session). Although for the price…you really cannot go wrong with this one!
A few of the things I learned:
- Images matter. Don’t use links only, upload the images and use SEO wording.
- Tags are SEO, keep them concise.
- Keyword needs to be in your title.

I know what you mean, Never be fooled by the so-termed “Seo analysts” that Website positioning is in simple fact some in-depth, really specialized subject. Knowing the fundamentals of Seo can get you far, so get started with in these days.
